Guys… on Saturday James, the kids and I went out to grab dinner. We left around 5:30p and got back at 7:15. When we came in I noticed drawers open, thought “weird” and honestly moved on to the next space. When I made it to the back of the house I noticed a draft and then I saw our TV was gone.

My brain started to spin… We had been robbed. This house that was the answer to so many prayers was now violated. Someone bashed in our glass French doors and turned our house into a garage sale. A sale with a tv, computer, phones, money, jewelry, and keep sakes priced at $0.

Y’all as the five of us stood in our half bath waiting for the police to come I couldn’t help but feel so grateful for my husband. He was so calm and took great care of us.

After the police left we put the kids in bed and we were left with a home that not too long before was a place to play in, make memories in, watch tv in, eat meals in, and walk around naked was now a place that felt unfamiliar. Guys! We did not sleep well that night!!! Not well at all.

The next day we decided to get a security system and to not live in fear! We searched high and low for this house I will not let someone taking a TV mess with that.

This happening has caused James and I think think about what is safety? Is it closing the world out so you know none of your neighbors or is it having no window coverings on the first floor because the view is amazing! For us we want to be the second one. With the help of Vivint we are able to come home without the thought of checking for a person in a closet. We simply want to come home and know it will be the way we left it!
